About

The bloke who turns up.

Miki Electrical Group is Maz Miki and a small team working out of Coburg. Fourteen years on the tools, mostly across Melbourne's inner north, and the same person who quotes the job is the one who does it.

Who you are dealing with

One electrician, not a call centre.

Plenty of companies send a different face every visit. This is not one of those.

Maz, the one on the tools

Masaki Miki, known to everyone as Maz, has been on the tools since he was an apprentice and has run Miki Electrical Group ever since. He holds a full electrical licence, REC 35681, and does the work himself rather than subcontracting it out and hoping for the best.

If you ring the number, you get him or someone who works with him every day. If he quotes your job, he is the one who shows up to do it.

Bry, who runs the office

Bry runs the office side, which means quotes, scheduling and the paperwork that keeps a job moving. She is usually the one who answers the phone or the email, and she is the reason things do not sit in an inbox for a week waiting on someone to get off a roof.

Between the two of them, nothing much falls through the gap.

Coburg, and the inner north

Coburg is home, and most of the work sits within a short drive of it. Brunswick, Preston, Fitzroy, Northcote and the surrounding inner north suburbs.

It is old housing stock out this way, a lot of it renovated in stages over decades, which means the wiring behind the walls is rarely what the plans say it is. That is normal here, and it is the kind of work we do most.

How we work

Quoted properly, done once.

The bits that tend to matter to people, said plainly.

You get a real quote

Not a number over the phone that changes when we get there. For anything beyond a simple call-out we look at the job first, because the difference between a tidy install and an expensive one is usually what is already in the wall.

Compliance is not optional

Every job gets a Certificate of Electrical Safety where one is required. It is the document that matters if you ever sell, insure or rent the place out, and it is not something to be casual about.

We leave it how we found it

Drop sheets down, dust taken with us, holes made good. Working in someone's home is different to working on a site, and it should feel that way when we leave.

When it cannot wait

Power out, a burning smell, something sparking. Ring rather than email, any hour. If it looks dangerous, switch off at the board first and then call, because the five seconds that takes is worth more than the call itself.

Quickest way to reach us is a call or a text. If it is easier to write it down, this comes straight through to Maz.
